I'm going to use post WWII as a launching point with Stewart as the lone exception:

#1 - The Great One...#99 inducted into the HOF in 1999.
#2 - Super Mario -  Might have broken Gretzky's records if not for the health issues. For that to even be considered is amazing! 
#3 - Phil Esposito - Perhaps the strongest center ever.
#4 - Nelson Stewart - Held All-time scoring record till "The Rocket" broke his mark.
#5 - Stan Mikita - Ultra savvy, a pro's pro.
#6 - Mark Messier - Great leader. Brought his "A" game every night!
#7 - Jean Beliveau - Habs superstar who was a credit to the game.
#8 - Alex Delvecchio - Great player who was always in position.
#9 - Jean Ratelle - Starred for the Rangers for many years.
#10 - Bobby Clarke - Unquestioned leader for the "Broad Street Bullies".
#11 - Marcel Dionne - Dangerous scorer with blinding speed.
#12 - Peter Stasny - Nordiques scoring machine in the 80's.
#13 - Bryan Trottier - Islander captain on their great Cup winning teams.
#14 - Ron Francis - Class act.
#15 - Sid Abel - Fed Howe for years in Detroit.
#16 - Jacques Lemaire - Great in the clutch.
#17 - Dave Keon - Mr. Backhand
#18 - Henri Richard - The "Pocket Rocket" was great in his own right.
#19 - Steve Yzerman - Future HOFer for the Red Wings
#20 - Norm Ullman - Like the EverReady Battery, he was there every night.
