Here is my All-Toronto-Prospect team halfway through the year
C - J.P. Arencibia / 13 games / .313-3-4-10-0 / New Hampshire (AA)
Arencibia has hit for a good average this year, but despite his .313 avg., he hasn't walked once in his 13 AA games. Arencibia needs to watch over his shoulder since Brian Jeroloman is creeping up on him as the future at catcher.
1B - David Cooper / 16 games / .338-2-9-16-0 / Auburn (Low A)
Yes we drafted him this year, but he is having an amazing year for a 20 year old in Auburn, hitting at a .338 clip and a .411 OBP and a .996 OPS.
2B - John Tolisano / 75 games / .271-3-41-30-5 / Lansing (Mid A)
Campell might be having a great year and being named to the World Futures team, Tolisano has quietly put together a solid year in Lansing. It was a tough call to put Tolisano above such a great season from Campell. One key note to Tolisano's season is he has 14 2B's and 7 3B's. he also has a .352 OBP and a .409 SLG.
3B - Kevin Ahrens / 71 games / .271-1-39-29-3 / Lansing (Mid A)
Ahrens is having a solid season as a 20 year old in the mid-level A league. He could really stand to take a few more walks, but that should come with time.
SS - Justin Jackson / 70 games / .226-4-45-29-11 / Lansing (Mid A)
The Jays are pretty weak in the system at SS, and Justin Jackson hasn't had a great year, but has made some good strides at the plate. Jackson has 13 doubles and 3 triples to go with his 4 HR's.
LF - Jacob Butler / 76 games / .244-11-31-42-0 / New Hampshire (AA)
Butler has not hit at a great clip, but has drawn a healty amount of walks (39). He has shown some good power last year, and has an ok SLG at .436.
CF - Ryan Patterson / 76 games / .260-11-35-37-6 / New Hampshire (AA)
Another Average OF in the Jays system. his OBP is a terrible .298, but his SLG is at a much healthier .459. One guy to watch though, If he can get his walk totals up he could be interesting to watch as a power/decent speed guy.
RF - Travis Snider / 66 games / .270-11-40-45-1 / New Hampshire (AA)
He has made a fairly smooth transition to AA and has put up a pretty good .353 OBP to go with his .448 SLG mark.
P- Brett Cecil / 13 games started/ 3-1 2.91 ERA / New Hampshire (AA)
The former Maryland closer has made a nice transition to a starter and has posted a good BB/K ratio (18/54) and been the one of the 2 bright spots on the miserable New Hampshire pitching staff (Robert Ray is the other 4 GS 3-1 2 CG 1 SHO 0.92 ERA and a 6/20 BB/k ratio)
